In burlesque, what you put on is just as important as what you take off. The Great Burlesque Exposition is proud to continue our annual tradition of displaying historical and significant burlesuqe costumes. The largest display of its kind on the east coast, past notable items have included costumes and accessories owned by Dita von Teese, Ann Corio, Angie Pontani, and Catherine d'Lish.
Admission to the Costume Exhibit is included with any weekend pass.

We're very proud to annouce that at the conclusion of The Great Burlesque Exposition Weekend, our costume exhibit is going to be on display for a month at The Museum of the West End. The West End was an historic neighborhood of Boston which included Scollay Square, Boston's old burlesque district.
Our Kickstarter campaign is going on now and one of the benefactors of The West End Museum has pledged to match our fund drive, dollar for dollar, if we can raise over $500.00 – that's where you come in. We need these funds to transport and insure these unique and historical costumes; license images of vintage burlesque costumes and performers; and purchase the display accessories which will allow us to showcase these beautiful pieces in the manner in which they deserve to be shown.
The costumes will be on display from April 10, 2012 through May 12, 2012. Admission to this exhibit will be free while it is housed The West End Museum. A portion of the funds go towards providing free access to these wonderful pieces of Americana. |
