Want a taste of the burlesque world? Our Drop-In Classes are just the thing for you! Presented by The Boston Academy of Burlesque Education, these four introductory classes are offered to the public on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Classes are free with your admission, but a limited amount of space is available. Everything you need is supplied. Take one class – or all of them!

There is no nudity in any of these classes.

You’ll learn things like…
  • The Art of The Striptease – as different from getting undressed as racing in The Indy 500 is from your morning commute. Learn to Take it Off like the pros do! Learn everything from unbuttoning in a bewitching way to sliding seductively from a skirt!
  • They don't call burlesque "The Bump 'n' Grind" for nothing! Along with shimmying, the bump and grind are the essential moves that every burlesque dancer needs to know. If you can close a car door with your hip while your arms are full of packages, you can do a bump!
  • The feather boa is the ultimate symbol of burlesque – sensual and opulent. Mae West was never seen without one. Marilyn Monroe wore one and Madonna owns dozens. This quick class gives you an overview of a burlesque dancers’ feathered best friend. Boas are provided for use and available for purchase at the merchandise table.
